The skiing is perfect for intermediates and beginners, with wide open and well groomed pistes, and for the advanced skiers there are some challenging off-piste runs. Lofer has excellent ski schools and caters well for families.
If you haven’t had enough of the water with hydrospeeding why not walk for 3 minutes from the house to the aptly named beautifully landscaped heated outdoor pool the "Stone Mountain bath" It is a magnet for all visitors to the village and has been designed to keep both children and adults entertained.

There is also a plentiful supply of natural bathing in the surrounding lakes and rivers. The nature bath reserve of Vorderkaser offers a blissful day trip where you can enjoy the natural bathing and playground areas for the kids and use use the many grill areas to cook up an al fresco delight for lunch.

Welcome to "Hunters House" a beautiful self catering skiing chalet located in the beautiful alpine village of Lofer Austria - a great family friendly holiday resort in Austria with activities for both the young and the young at heart, located just 35 minutes from Saltzburg or 1.5 hours from Munich airport, Lofer is one of Austrias best kept secrets! - This charming Austria Chalet is set within it ’s own grounds. It has ample off road parking and is within 5 minutes walk from the Lofer telecabin, where the two village ski school operations are based. For the less energetic the village ski bus passes by the house and will drop you off directly in front of the telecabin.

What makes Lofer a Great Holiday Destination
Situated among forests, valleys, and mountain rivers is the old market town of Lofer. It ’s a good base for exploring much of Land Salzburg, including Salzburg itself, the Grossglockner alpine road, Krimml Falls, the dams at Kaprun, Kitzb ühel and Innsbruck as well as Lake Chiemsee and Berchtesgaden in Germany.

Lofer is both a health resort and a ski center, offering hospitality, traditional and rural charm. It's known for its peat-water and mud baths, as well as its Kneipp cures. The area around Lofer is nice for walking or hiking in both summer and winter. Sports facilities include a tennis court, skating rink, miniature golf course and enclosed swimming pool. Within an hour's drive are three 18-hole golf courses.
